Bureau Reporter/Photographer

K2TV is looking for a Bureau News Reporter/Photographer. In this position you would live and work in Riverton, Wyoming. K2 is Wyoming`s News Leader. The position will be reporting, shooting, writing and editing news stories. As a Bureau reporter you are also responsible for making contacts with community leaders and developing your own story ideas. You must be a self-starter who can meet deadlines without supervision! We provide the best tools, shooting on JVC HD cameras that use memory cards instead of tape. We edit on Final Cut HD, and as a Bureau reporter you will edit on a laptop computer. So experience with Final Cut is preferred. College and/or internship on-air experience preferred.

We are looking for someone who can do it all. The position will be reporting, shooting, writing and editing news stories. As a Bureau reporter you are also responsible for making contacts with community leaders and developing your own story ideas. You must be a self-starter who can show up for work on time and meet deadlines without supervision! Since this job is in the state capital city and requires many assignments regarding state government, an understanding and interest in politics and how government works are a big plus. We provide the best tools, shooting on JVC HD cameras that use memory cards instead of tape. We edit on Final Cut HD, and as a Bureau reporter you will edit on a laptop computer, so experience with Final Cut is preferred. College and/or internship on-air experience preferred.

About The Author

I'm a faculty member in Communication & Journalism at the University of Wyoming. At UW, I have taught online journalism, advanced new media, introduction to mass media, politics and media, and alternative media. At Ohio State, where I got my PhD, I taught research methods, news reporting and writing, visual communication, and persuasion. My reserach focuses on political communication, emerging media platforms, and entertainment media.
